How do I choose the right fireplace for my house?
First you must decide what you want out of the fireplace. If you want lots of heat then you will want a vent free fireplace. If you want to use it frequently for looks, then you want some kind of vented fireplace, and we have lots to choose from.
Can I install my own fireplace?
You are welcome to install any of our units, but we do have factory trained employees not subs to install all our fireplaces. If we install the units then when it comes time to put facing material on it we are responsible for ensuring that it is flush and level.
How often should I have my gas fireplace serviced?
We recommend that you have our service department clean and service your gas fireplace every two years. We recommend that between services you just dust off the logs before lighting and clean the glass every year. How do I light my fireplace pilot?

What do I do if I see a flashing light in my fireplace or hear a beeping sound from my fireplace?
Fireplace remote controls have a sensor that will flash a light, or beep, when the batteries are running low. If you see a flashing light or hear a beep, change the batteries in your remote control sensor box, located inside your fireplace, AND the batteries inside your hand held remote control. If you do not feel comfortable doing this yourself, use our online Service Appointment form to schedule a service appointment and one of our trained employees will be happy to assist you.
Does Builders Fireplace & Supply, Inc have my fireplace inspected?
Your fireplace will be inspected, at two stages of installation, by the county inspections department. They will inspect it once at the framing stage and again at the end of construction, to be sure the installation follows all building and installation codes. Our experienced and trained staff are fully knowledgeable of all these code requirements.
